Friends in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ!
Within the week, we will celebrate Christ’s resurrection with shouts of Alleluia! Christ is Risen! Easter is a season in the Church year when we welcome the gift of resurrected life in Christ as individual followers of Jesus and as a community of believers.
CVLC is well acquainted with seasons. Annually, “THE SEASON” fills our pews and increases our ministries. We are glad many folks spend their weeks and months in the sunshine worshiping and serving at CVLC. The coming and going into and from our community occurs as folks navigate the seasons of their lives (pre- and post-retirement) and health. Even those who are here year-round find themselves in these different seasons.
The loving word of Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection keeps us going through joy and struggle in all the seasons of life. According to Hebrews 1:3, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word (New International Version).”
Following an extensive discernment period that precedes my arrival at CVLC, the Council has initiated a Call Process for a Second Pastor. Conversations in the Fall of 2023 showed a strong desire to sustain our expanding ministry with additional pastoral support. A sustainable ministry will allow for additional innovation and greater extension into the community.
Throughout the 50 days of the Easter season, we will campaign to raise funds for the first three years of a Second Pastor. We need to raise $50,000 a year for three years in pledges and gifts. All gifts will receive a double match. For example, a $1,000 gift will become $3,000.
Thank you ahead of time for considering how you might lend your critical support to this Easter effort. Your prayers, three-year pledges, and gifts are greatly appreciated.
In Christ’s Light,
