What's Happening

Serving as God’s Hands

Council Nomination Process

On Saturday, September 9 – CVLC will participate in the God’s Work Our Hands servant event with other churches of the Caloosa Conference of the Florida Bahamas Synod.  Together we will work at Faith Lutheran Church in Lehigh Acres whose buildings were affected by Ian.  In addition, we will add some love and maintenance to the church building that sees extensive use by the wider community.  Faith Lutheran hosts over 12 AA/NA and Alanon groups, a Boy Scout Troop, 3 small congregations, a weekly bread ministry that feeds 200 families, a twice a week food pantry, music lessons, English classes, plus other community activities.

As a volunteer you will touch and transform the lives of many people helping us to create a safe, clean, welcoming, and beautiful place where people can be touched by God’s love!

WE WILL LEAVE CVLC at 8:00 a.m. and caravan to the work site in Lehigh Acres.  Lunch is provided.  We end work at noon.

WHAT can you do:

  1. Join the work crew from CVLC.
  2. Secure Thrivent cards for this project so we can buy materials.

WHAT do we hope to accomplish: (this is very ambitious- it all depends on the number of volunteers)

  1. Fix (& paint) the outside AA/NA bathrooms and building
  2. Paint the inside of the Outreach ministries (AA/NA, Scouts, & Food pantry ministries)
  3. Plant a few (4-6) trees around our campus
  4. Mulch the TLV playground
  5. Paint the stage when Scouts and community groups meet.
