Heading into the future

Guided by our G.R.A.C.E. values and practice of an Open Communion Table, we will pursue four goals to sustain and grow Jesus’s loving and inclusive ministry in this place over the next five years.

Engage:

GOAL: Attain at least 60% engagement of Sunday morning worship in ministry contact during the week.

Potential strategies:

●Add one new small group a trimester – this will give us 15 small groups by 2030.

●Increase volunteer recruitment efforts on a trimester basis.

●Create an “out-there” volunteer concept that encourages CVLC to participate in the larger community as part of their discipleship and to “count” their work in CVLC engagement.

●Celebrate volunteer efforts to empower people in discipleship within/beyond CVLC’s ministries.

Community:

GOAL: Significant involvement in at least thirty events in the community over the next five years.

Potential strategies:

●Use Victory Park as a community gathering place.

●Identify community events (i.e., Farmer Markets, art shows, festivals) to participate in regularly as CVLC.

●Invite community groups to use our space.

●Promote CVLC events in the community.

Care:

GOAL: Develop a care plan to meet the needs of both our internal and our external community.

Potential strategies:

●Empower the Pastoral Care T eam to identify those living alone in the CVLC congregation and assess needs.

●Empower the Outreach Committee to assess current outreach ministries and plan for sustainable growth in meeting the needs of the larger community.

Welcome:

GOAL: Connect with 100 new people a year in worship (in-person or online).

Potential strategies:

●Sustain our capacity to provide worship livestreaming with increasing quality to extend welcome to those who can’t get to worship in person. For example, explore hiring an A V person to manage, run the screen content, and work with volunteers

●Identify Additional spiritual opportunities at Grand Living and other local senior living facilities.

●Adopt a Welcome Statement that explicitly welcomes everyone.
