Fifty years ago, Christus Victor Lutheran Church (CVLC) began its congregational ministry in the north Naples, Bonita Springs area. For generations, God’s Spirit has blessed us, and we have generously shared these blessings.
As we mark this golden Jubilee, we celebrate our past and welcome God’s future. There are many stories to tell and memories to share from our past. There is also an opportunity to strengthen and enhance our ministry for the future.
Our Jubilee Capital Campaign seeks to raise $100,000 to enhance our welcome, worship, accessibility, and provide a safe place for children to play. Earlier this year, the CVLC Council, acting on the recommendation of the Anniversary Committee, approved four prioritized projects:
Entrance Sign ($10,000): New signage on 41 will highlight our logo and improve our curb appeal. This will replace our aging sign that has seen better days.
Video Screens in Sanctuary ($50,000): Two new screens at the front of the sanctuary, mounted on the wall, will project images and words to accompany hymns. Worshippers will be able to see the screens more clearly no matter where they sit. In addition, the projection will be at a higher resolution.
Exterior Tables and Chairs ($20,000): The picnic tables currently in the pavilion are showing their age and pose significant barriers to use for older folks and those with mobility concerns. Ten new exterior tables and sixty exterior chairs will improve our fellowship and faith formation in Victory Park.
Playground ($20,000): The play structure outside the church office was rusting and raising safety concerns. Thanks to a pre-campaign gift of $20,000, a new playground has been installed. Already, the next generation is enjoying this gift.
Mission Partner Tithe (10%): It is in CVLC’s congregational DNA to be generous. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been given to support mission work beyond our doors. It is fitting, therefore, that our Jubilee Capital Campaign contains a tithing component. The CVLC Council has approved tithing (10%) of the campaign’s $100,000 goal, to be funded from our General Fund. For each dollar given, CVLC will send 5% to St. Matthew’s House and 5% to Cafe of Life. This sharing will occur as money comes in.
Should we exceed our goal, all additional funds will be designated to support future staffing, with a tithe of that also going to St. Matthew’s House and Cafe of Life.
